Hanalei Valley Lookout Maintenance:
Coordinator: Lion Wayne Tanji
Description:  The Hanalei Valley Overlook is opposite the Princeville Center on Highway 56.  It is constantly visited by tourists for scenic views of Hanalei Valley and the Hanalei River.  The Lions keep the area clean, mowed, and bushes and trees trimmed.
Sight Aid - Funding:
Coordinator: Lion Gary Pacheco
Description: 
The Lions will coordinate sight assistance needs for those North Shore residents who have financial difficulty. 
Prince Albert Park Playground Equipment:
Coordinator: Lion Richard Maloney
Description:
During the summer of 2006, the Club will assist the Princeville Community Association in the assembly of new park playground equipment. 
Eye Glasses Recycling:
Coordinator: Lion Odie Dill
Description: 
The Lions Club collects old eye glasses and recycles them to provide inexpensive lens for those who need them.
Youth Vision & Hearing Screening:
Coordinator: Lion Sandi Sterker
Description:  Annual screening of children for vision and hearing problems.   Multiple North Shore elementary schools have participated in this important activity and many children have benefited from detected  hearing or vision problems.
Sight is Beautiful Poster Contest:
Coordinator: Lion Trudy Comba
Description:  The Lions sponsor an annual poster contest for the students at Kilauea and Hanalei Schools focusing on sight is beautiful.  During 2006, Judy also served as the Zone (island) Coordinator for these contests.
Charter Celebration:
Coordinator: Lion George Kalaiwaa
Description: An annual celebration of the founding of the Kauai North Shore Lions Club.  
Christmas Goodies Bags for Children:
Coordintor: Lion Mike Loo
Description: Each Christmas season, the Lions provide help and funding for stuffing goodie bags for distribution to children at local elementary schools.
Breast Cancer Screening:
 Coordinator: Lion Sandi Sterker
Description:
The Club has funded the supplies for helping to bring greater awareness to self checking for breast cancer. 
Scholarships:
Coordinator: Lion Mike Loo
Description:
Each summer the North Shore Lions provide scholarships to a selected number of college students from Kauai's North Shore communities.  Interested students submit applications and selected recipients will receive a scholarship.
Kilauea School Projects:
Coordinator: Lion Bill Troutman
Description:  During 2006, the Club will be performing certain projects as an assist to the Kilauea School. 
 Annual Golf Tournament:
Coordinator: Lion ML Taylor
Description:  Every Autumn, the Club sponsors a golf tournament at the Princeville Makai course.  A cookout follows with prizes and lucky number drawings.  Proceeds from the tournament help provide financial support for other Club projects.
See's Candy Sales:
Coordinator: Lion Richard Teixeira
Description:  Every Christmas, the Club sells See's Candy as a fund raiser.  The proceeds help provide financial support for other Club projects.
Drinking Water Sale:
Coordinator: Lion Conrad Schmidt
Description:  The sells drinking water to visitors at Kilauea Point as a fund raising activity.   The proceeds help provide financial support for other Club projects.
Annual Pancake Breakfast:
  Coordinator: Lion Don McConnell
Description:  Every Spring, the Club has a fund raising pancake breakfast at the Hanalei School cafeteria.  Usually accompanied with hula dancers and lucky number drawings, the proceeds from the breakfast help provide financial support for other Club projects. 
Polo and T-shirt Sales:
Coordinator: Lion Patrick Hallmark
Description:  The Club sells polo shirts and t-shirt with the Kauai North Shore logo as a fund raising activity to provide financial support for other Club projects.

Committees


Budget Committee:
Description:  The Budget Committee provides financial review and planning for the North Shore Lions Club.  It is coordinated by the Club Treasurer.  
Board of Directors:
Description:  The Board of Directors provides the ongoing guidance for the Lions Club during the year.  The Board is comprised of the elected officers of the  Club.  The Board meets once a month.
